“Green Business Schemes” are implemented based on the “Challenge 2008-National Development Focal Program” approved by the Executive Yuan (行政院). The core concept of the schemes is to “establish a green commercial environment in which traditional markets and shopping districts shall reduce energy consumption, decrease garbage and do recycling as well as encourage green products consumption”. In order to reach the two targets of “encouraging green products consumption” and “establishing a green commercial environment”, domestic traditional open markets and retailers in the shopping districts will be assisted to run their businesses in accordance with the mission of “green environmental protection (綠色環保)”, which means “recyclable, low pollution and energy efficiency” and covers all aspects of marketing, operation, management and consumers’ consumption. Advocating and promoting a green commercial environment should be continued actively. |

A specialist standardization institute was established in 1947 to administer standardization affairs and then it has evolved into the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection, the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Standardization processes for the nation and companies have been nearly completed. However the standardization process for groups has just commenced.
Given that most of economic countries have developed group standardization well followed the standards of groups, we should refer to their experiences. In order to encourage domestic enterprises or professional groups to formulate practice codes and standards, the has drawn up the “Regulations of Standardization” and hold “ National Standardization Award” which is to award those who have made substantial contribution to standardization work and affairs. These are aimed not only to establish, implement and promote a standardized system nation wide but also to meet diverse industrial needs. Further more, economy may be boosted and the national competitiveness may be enhanced.
